Legacy Reentry Foundation Presents
The Digital Wellness Initiative
Helping individuals and families understand, navigate, and reclaim their relationship with technology, media, and digital culture—before it shapes them by default.
Digital wellness isn't about rejecting technology. It's about using it consciously, safely, and humanely.
The Digital Wellness Initiative addresses how technology and media shape attention, behavior, and mental health—and helps people respond with awareness rather than reaction.
Technology evolved faster than our ability to adapt to it
Screens shape attention. Algorithms shape beliefs. Platforms shape behavior. Yet most people—especially youth—are never taught how digital systems influence thinking, emotions, identity, and risk.
Digital wellness fills that gap. This initiative exists to restore agency in a screen-saturated world.
Our Core Focus
Expose how media and technology affect mental health and decision-making
Build critical awareness instead of passive consumption
Help families and communities regain agency
A Unified Digital Wellness Framework
The Digital Wellness Initiative serves as the umbrella framework that defines mission, standards, and outcomes. Under it operate two complementary programs designed to spark awareness and genuine dialogue.

Hosted by Carlos Smith
What It Is
Candid, in-the-moment conversations with teens—often in cars, away from classrooms, scripts, and performative spaces where authenticity gets lost.
Why It Matters
Teens often talk more honestly when they're not being lectured, not being recorded in formal settings, and speaking to someone who listens more than he instructs.

Role within the Initiative: Carversations grounds Digital Wellness in lived youth experience—informing, challenging, and sharpening the broader conversation with unfiltered teenage voices.
Digital wellness affects everyone—but not everyone the same way
Understanding technology's impact requires meeting people where they are. Each audience faces unique challenges and needs tailored approaches to digital wellness.
Youth & Teens
Navigating identity formation, peer pressure, and digital risk in real-time without a roadmap
Parents & Caregivers
Trying to guide their children through terrain they themselves don't fully understand
Educators & Mentors
On the front lines addressing digital issues without adequate tools or training
Community Leaders
Addressing mental health, violence prevention, and safety in an increasingly digital world
Policy & Systems Stakeholders
Seeking prevention-based approaches, not just reactive responses to digital harm
Digital wellness is public safety. Mental health. Prevention.
Legacy Reentry Foundation understands how environments shape outcomes—whether physical, psychological, or digital. The digital landscape is an environment, and it profoundly influences behavior and wellbeing.
This initiative is prevention work. It belongs alongside reentry, youth development, and violence prevention as essential community infrastructure.
Unchecked Digital Influence
Fuels anxiety and depression across age groups
Normalizes risky behavior through constant exposure
Amplifies misinformation and conspiracy theories
Erodes attention, empathy, and personal accountability
This is a living initiative
Screen Shot and Carversations form the foundation—not the finish line. As the Digital Wellness Initiative evolves, it will expand to meet emerging needs and reach broader communities.
